2021 Goals for the Amazon Rainforest
2021 New Year's Resolutions
As we approach the end of 2020, many of us may make the decision to commit to a New Year's resolution or two. This creates the perfect opportunity to choose a resolution that can help protect the Amazon Rainforest. Consider making one of the following as your New Year's resolution to do your part in saving the rainforest!
1. Eat Less Meat
One of the things that drives the frequency of deforestation in the rainforest up is cattle ranching. Trees are continuously being removed in order to move cattle in, providing beef for many fast food chains. Choosing to eat less meat, especially beef, in 2021 can help save more of the rainforest from being destroyed as there will be that much less of a demand for meat.
2. Reduce Paper Use
Another reason deforestation continues in the rainforest is to produce paper products. By committing to decreasing the amount of paper products you use, more of the trees in the rainforest can continue to grow!
3. Spread the Word
Many people do not realize that deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest effects more than just its surrounding areas. The destruction of the rainforest has a huge impact on the entire planet. Using your voice and spreading the word about how these actions effect us all has the ability to help save even more of the rainforest.
4. Donate
Researching and investing in organizations that help protect the rainforest and its people is one of the best things you can do. These organizations spend lots of time and energy protecting the rainforest on even greater scales with the resources they have available to them.
As we begin our journey into 2021, let's finally put an end to deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest!
