Deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest

On June 21st, 2020, Rainforest Foundation held a virtual concert called SOS Rainforest Live to raise awareness for the indigenous communities of the Amazon Rainforest. These people are currently battling the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, while simultaneously trying to save the forest they call home. Deforestation in the rainforest has been a huge threat to the survival of these people. It may not seem like it, but the Covid-19 pandemic has only made protecting the Amazon Rainforest more difficult. I think it is important to remember that there is a domino effect when it comes to saving the rainforest from deforestation. Without its native people, the rainforest faces an unknown fate. It is important to also keep these people safe and healthy as they continue the fight against deforestation.
